During the disruption of regular services due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Office of Communications is maintaining a collection of information and resources for staff, faculty and students. For the latest information, visit the COVID-19 website, which will be updated frequently with FAQs and the latest information.
Vaccine Recipients Encouraged To Fill Out Online Form
UT Dallas encourages anyone who has received the COVID-19 vaccine to register using our voluntary registration form. Please fill out the form for each dose of the vaccine you receive.

Weekly Proactive COVID-19 Testing Available
Weekly proactive COVID-19 testing is now available to employees who are onsite one or more days a week. Participation is encouraged to help reduce any potential asymptomatic spread within our campus community. For more information on how to enroll in the program, please email [email protected].

New Dimensions Campaign Kicks Off on May 25
The University of Texas at Dallas will launch the New Dimensions campaign — an effort that, with your help, will transform the University’s impact across the globe.
Join the Office of Development and Alumni Relations for the campaign kickoff at 4 p.m., Tuesday, May 25, where you’ll hear from University leaders, students and alumni about campaign goals, priorities and how you can get involved.
The campaign aims to build upon a half-century of momentum, propelling UT Dallas’ growth and success through the next 50 years and beyond. Each gift toward the $750 million goal will directly support the needs of exceptional students, facilitate the enterprising work of our faculty and realize the possibilities that exist when world-class researchers and visionary artists share a home.

Attend Jonsson School’s Dimensions of Diversity on May 20
Join the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science for a conversation with C-suite executives on creating an equitable future in engineering and computer science.
Dimensions of Diversity: Engineering an Equitable Future will be at 8:30 a.m., Thursday, May 20, on Microsoft Teams. Register to attend Dimensions of Diversity.
Dean Stephanie G. Adams will moderate a discussion among panelists including Nancy Flores, executive vice president, chief operations officer and chief technology officer at McKesson Corp.; Terri Hatcher, chief diversity and inclusion officer at NTT DATA Services; and Maya Leibman, chief information officer and executive vice president for American Airlines.
Megan Hogan, chief diversity officer of Goldman Sachs will welcome guests, and Chris Bhatti MA’06, assistant vice president of development and alumni relations at UT Dallas and associate dean for external relations at the Jonsson School, will provide closing remarks.

Economic Development Team Publishes Reports on Jobs, Drive Times
Dallas-Fort Worth posted a net gain of 28,600 jobs in March — the first employment gain of 2021 — raising employment to near-November levels, 115,600 jobs short of pre-pandemic employment.
Unemployment rates improved in D-FW, Texas and nationwide at 6.5%, 7.2% and 6.2%, respectively, the lowest rates to date in 2021. The monthly volume of job postings reached a new record high since before the pandemic. See this month’s D-FW Labor Market Update for details and look for the April 2021 update on June 9.

Round of Applause for Sustainability Service Honorees
The Office of Sustainability recently celebrated nine graduates of its Sustainability Service Honors program. During the small ceremony, honorees planted a small pollinator garden at McDermott Library as a final thumbprint left on campus. Honorees each contributed 250 hours of service toward sustainability as defined by the 17 United Nations Sustainability Goals, which encompass social, economic and environmental sustainability.

BrainHealth Lectures Highlight Character, Virtue, Repairing the Brain
The Center for BrainHealth invites you to attend its next offerings in the Sips & Science and Virtual Frontiers Lecture series.
The Character Edge and BrainHealth, 7 p.m., Thursday, May 20 — Dr. Michael Matthews and retired Lt. Gen. Robert Caslen, co-authors of The Character Edge, will review the science of positive character and virtue as the basis for personal achievement and resilience and well-being. View a preview video.
Tools for Analyzing and Repairing the Brain with Dr. Ed Boyden, noon, Friday, May 21 — Boyden, an MIT professor and a Howard Hughes Medical Institute investigator, and his team develop tools that enable the mapping of the molecules and wiring of the brain, the recording and control of its neural dynamics, and the repair of its dysfunction.

Research 101 Series: Detour Ahead — How to Avoid Common Pitfalls on the Road to IRB Approval, noon-12:45 p.m., Friday, May 21 — IRB specialists will expose common pitfalls experienced during the submission process. Comet Corner Series: Who Lacks Reciprocity? Challenging Precarious Assumptions about People with Autism, noon-1 p.m., Wednesday, May 26 — Dr. Morton Ann Gernsbacher MS ’80 will review her research to demonstrate that it is often people without autism (e.g., researchers, clinicians, teachers and parents), rather than people with autism, who exhibit a lack of reciprocity. Amy Spawn, CEO of The Warren Center, will moderate the conversation and Dr. Noah Sasson, associate professor of psychology at UTD, will joining as discussant. The Office of Communications has created a Teams group to connect marketers across campus. In addition to quarterly meetings, this team will provide tutorials, announcements and serve as a platform for staff and faculty to ask brand or marketing questions.

Mark May 26-27 on your calendars for UT Dallas’ fifth annual Comets Giving Days celebration. Here are two ways you can get involved today:
- Sign up as a participating group: After signing up, you will be added to the Comets Giving Days team, and you will stay up-to-date with planning, details and trainings to help maximize the dollars raised for your area.
- Become a digital ambassador: By supporting the area they are most passionate about, digital ambassadors play a vital role in the success of the Comets Giving Days. Prizes will be given to ambassadors who sign up and share their link.
