Taking College Teaching Seriously with Guest Speaker Dr. Gail Mellow, President emeritus, LaGuardia Community College and author of "Taking College Seriously – Pedagogy Matters"

Teaching success among college faculty is more critical to student success than any other single factor, yet is routinely ignored by individuals interested in diversifying student populations, creating social mobility, or enhancing college prestige. It is rarely funded as an essential element of faculty support, or seriously considered in faculty reward structures. This talk will explore how to create self-reflective and thriving faculty communities that lead to purposeful teaching and improved student outcomes.

Wednesday, February 12 from 12:00pm - 1:00pm
McDermott Library, MC 2.410
Lunch will be provided while supplies last
