You may have seen headlines recently about the rise of university students struggling with anxiety and depression. Students in our Comet community are facing these same challenges, if not more. Many UT Dallas students report feeling overwhelmed by the rigorous, competitive campus environment, making the usual transition to college life that much more stressful!
The intersection of mental health and various identity concerns influences not only how we navigate everyday life, but also directly impacts mental well-being and academic success. The team at the UTD Student Counseling Center have created an affirming and informative space to begin to shift this experience and narrative at the inaugural Mental Health Summit! Come out for a free half-day experience where you will learn from SCC clinicians and our campus partners about ways to help de-stigmatize mental health struggles and help seeking. It is the responsibility of the entire campus to continue the conversation and work towards changing the narrative!
