The Student Union is a 98,000 square foot facility that serves as the hub of student life on campus.
An atrium-style building, the first floor provides an open air feeling to the recreational activities offered there. Pool, ping pong, board games, chess, carom, and video games are just a few of the activities available free of charge to students.
There are two lounges on the first floor, one with a large screen TV, bean bag chairs, and tables for studying, and another, open lounge for reading, eating, or just hanging out.
Radio UTD, the student-run web casting radio station on campus is located near the pool tables. DJs can be seen from the glass booth during show time.
The first floor also includes the Dean of Students office and a variety of other student services.
The Student Union provides services and activities for the campus community at large and especially for students. For a list of activities throughout campus check the Comet Calendar. Stop by and get to know us!
The second floor of the Student Union has a food court offering Pizza Hut, Chick Fil-A, Montague Deli sandwiches and other meal options.
The PUB is located on the north wing of the second floor and offers hamburgers, nachos, and other pub fare, along with Starbucks coffee and milkshakes. The PUB is the center for many student events throughout the year, including concerts, poetry readings, and entertainment.
Other spaces in the Student Union include the newly refurbished Comet Lounge, the Center for Student Involvement, the headquarters for SUAAB (Student Activities and Advisory Board -- and the place where students can get information about student organizations and activities), and several meeting rooms.
The UTD Mercury, Student Government, and the Greek Center are located on the second floor of the Union.
The SU features a full-time operations and facilities team as well as assistance with room reservations, event planning, and other student needs. Please visit our contact page for our staff directory.
