Summer 2008 Graduates

Beginning this year (2008), the University of Texas at Dallas will no longer be holding a summer commencement ceremony. We will continue to award degrees at the end of the summer term. The official summer 2008 graduation date is August 23, 2008. Diplomas will be mailed to students with no holds on their accounts about 6-8 weeks after this date.

PARTICIPATION IN THE DECEMBER 19th-20th 2008 FALL COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY Summer 2008 graduates who have not previously participated in a commencement ceremony for their degree will be eligible to participate in the Fall 2008 Commencement Ceremony under the following guidelines:

  • All degree requirements must have been completed by the end of the summer 2008 term. Please note--if you did not complete all degree requirements by the end of the summer 2008 term, you must re-apply for graduation. Your eligibility to participate in a commencement ceremony will then fall under the guidelines of the semester for which you re-apply for graduation.
  • You must submit an online graduation RSVP (login required) to the fall 2008 ceremony by November 19, 2008.
  • Order your cap and gown.
  • Get your graduation announcements from Herff Jones.
  • Get your tickets.
  • Read the Commencement ceremony instructions.
