Welcome!

Welcome to the homepage of The University of Texas at Dallas Debate Team. The UTD Debate Team offers competitive two-person policy debate and scholarships to experienced and exceptional high school debaters.
Operating under the auspices of the Office of Undergraduate Education, the UTD Debate Team is creating a tradition of success and excellence in college debate. The UTD debate team won CEDA's "Brady Lee Garrison Newcomer Sweepstakes Award" in Spring 1997. It has continued to grow into a nationally known and respected college debate team ever since then. The UTD Debate Team also earned its first qualification for the National Debate Tournament in Spring 2004 and has qualified for the NDT every subsequent year. The team hosted the inaugural 'Fear and Loathing in Dallas' intercollegiate tournament in January 2004. This annual tournament is consistently one of ten largest college tournaments in the country. UTD hosted its inaugural Comet Challenge High School Speech and Debate Tournament in January 2008. It too will be an annual event.
