Freshman Orientation

Freshman Orientation is an exciting first step to becoming part of the UT Dallas campus and community. This two-day program for all freshmen will provide an overview of the extensive range of opportunities available to you at UT Dallas.

You will be able to register for classes during Freshman Orientation. The more familiar you are with the courses being offered, the easier and smoother the advising and registration process. We recommend that you review the UT Dallas class schedule on the Course Lookup Web site before your scheduled orientation.

Registration
New students have the option of registering for Freshman Orientation in one of two ways: online through a secure Web site, or by mail.

If registering by mail, please fill out the orientation registration form for freshmen and mail it with the $100 orientation fee to:

If you cannot afford registration fees for orientation, you may be eligible to have them waived. Contact New Student Programs at 972-883-6171 or at newstudentprograms@utdallas.edu for more information.

Placement Tests
All students planning to take Pre-Calculus, Applied Calculus or Calculus I must fulfill course prerequisites. Visit the Undergraduate Dean's Web site for more information about math placement tests.

In addition, Computer Science students should read information about Computer Science placement testing.
