Library Services for Students

You're new to the campus...
You've been here for years but never used the library...
Where's the library...?
What's a database....?

How do I cite that...?

Where are the computer books?
How do I decipher 2301:34,9, 567-98?
Do you have books by Anaїs Nin?
Who is Anaїs Nin and was she as important as Lady Murasaki?
My professor recommends books about butterfly mating rituals...
So many questions. So much research. So little time.
Who are you going to call?

The instruction librarians at McDermott Library are available to assist you with your library research and finding the resources needed to handle that paper or project.

Call me and I can arrange individual appointments with an instruction librarian.

The Information Literacy Services Department of the McDermott Library at the University of Texas at Dallas assists library users in finding the information they need in a timely manner. Some of the services Information Literacy offers are:

• Instruction in the use of the library’s online catalog,

• Instruction in the use of our electronic resources,

• Assistance in developing research strategies, and

• Subject-specific instruction.

We are here to help. Please contact Loreen Phillips at (972) 883-2126 or Susie Kutchi at (972) 883-2613 or use this form to request instruction.
