Making UTD Better
This webpage provides a coordinated central point for collecting and distributing information for improvements regarding UTD's physical facilities. It is maintained by the University Facilities Oversight Committee, which assists in solving current problems and collects information and suggestions that will helpful in long term planning.
The chief university official in charge of facilities is the Vice President for Business Affairs. The University Facilities Oversight Committee is advisory to the VPBA. The Chair of the Campus Facilities Oversight Committee is a faculty person, appointed by President on the nomination of the Senate. For 2005-2006 the Chair is Murray Leaf.
Building Liaisons
If you note a problem requiring maintenance or repair in any building, or have suggestions regarding the facilities in any building, the Building Liaisons should be your first recourse.
Mobility and Disability Problems
All facilities on campus should be accessible to users with disabilities. The campus mobility and disability officer is Kerry Tate, available at (972) 883-2098 or via email at ktate@utdallas.edu.
Athletic Facilities
Athletic facilities include all the outdoor facilities and well as the University Physical Activities building.
Campus Safety Committees and Offices
Safety concerns are divided among a number of specialized committees and offices, all of which are coordinated by the University Safety Council.
Student Goverment
Student Government is also concerned with problems with University Facilities.
Campus Facilities Committee
UTD has initiated long-term planning as a permanent, ongoing, campus-wide activity.
Computer Security and Infrastructure
For contacts with regard to immediate problems or long term suggestions regarding computer security or facilities.
Parking and Security
Immediate problems such as parking lot or walkway lights or telephones that do not work should be referred to the police.
Longer term issues should be referred to the Parking and Security Committee.
Waterview Apartments
Immediate management concerns should be directed to the Waterview manager. If this is not satisfactory, notify the UTD Housing Operations Officer.
