General Information

The University of Texas at Dallas is pleased to offer the DART Gold Transit Pass at no cost to all students, faculty, and staff of the University. The DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) Pass is an annual pass program that permits the bearer unlimited access to all DART services: local and express buses as well as Light Rail. Additionally, riders have unlimited access to services of the Trinity Railway Express and The "T", Fort Worth's public transit system. The Transit Pass Program works in cooperation with UT-Dallas's campus bus system, Route 883, to encourage greater utilization of efficient and environmentally-friendly transportation.

The DART Pass is provided as a benefit of enrollment and employment at UT-Dallas. The program, instituted Fall 2007, is supported by the student body through a student transportation fee in addition to a subsidy from University Administration. DART Passes are issued exclusively to University staff members, faculty members, and enrolled students. Passes are identified with a unique serial number and are printed with a photo and name of the bearer. The cards carry a magnetic data stripe that allows DART to electronically void the card at expiration or when otherwise necessary. Eligible persons must apply for the Pass through an on-line application process. Applicants must hold a valid Comet Card. Renewals and replacement cards are processed through the same application form.

With the DART Pass, riders are able to reach locations such as Downtown Dallas, Love Field, D/FW Airport, and even Downtown Fort Worth by bus and rail with public transportation that is reliable and economical. Complete routing and scheduling options are available through DART's Trip Planner.
